December is working about tone a pretty hectic month. The ‘SIX’ Exhibition at Quay Arts opens on January 8th and I therefore have needed to ensure that all my printing and framing is completed before the Christmas break. There are five plates in the series “Catching the Light…” and my methodology involves many etchings with the plate returning again and again to the acid bath. It’s been wonderful to work on larger plates and the scale has enthused me greatly. In between proofing, when the plates are in the acid, I tend to use my time to sketch. There’s always an element of waiting during the etching process and so using that time constructively and without a care is extremely positive! The sketchbook is moving on to future explorations whilst the current themes develop before me.
