There is something very comforting to have a light left on for you. Stemming from the fears in our childhood to the worries of adulthood, having light in hours of darkness can reassure and calm. In the troubled times of the pandemic I have noticed how people are searching for that security, that reassurance. This small piece aims to give a little of that hope and reassurance.
“Leaving the Light on” is a small copper etching using spray paint aquatint. Image 10cm x 10cm, Edition of 10.
It has. of course, resulted in additional sketchbook scribblings using the same image / theme.
