‘Dissected Shoe II’

Copper etching on Fabriano, edition of 10

Plate 10cm x 10cm – miniprint

Fran Farrar, copper etching, etching, printmaker, printmaking

I decided to revisit this image and plate, and rework it from its original state. The image is one of my son’s dissected shoe which I began to explore visually and conceptually a few years ago. There is something about a discarded show that is both disturbing as well as familiar. The shoe holds on to every view seen, every person met, every step taken within it’s structure. Here it is laid out like a dissected beast, awaiting inspection.
