The series of prints ‘Spring at Blists Hill’ explore my direct ancestral links to the Severn Gorge and its industrial past. Sat sketching in the Blists Hill Valley, Ironbridge last April I found myself listening to the song of birds long related to those which sang when my past family toiled in the same location. The print captures the contrast of springtime colours with the underlying traces of a harsh industrial history.
