One of the ‘Rift’ series – monotype printed ‘rifts’ on lengths of paper 25m long. Visual representations of a schism in time, a gap in the equilibrium. They represent the split second of a moment, one that we might revisit or slip though once made. I have been temporarily placing and recording these ‘rifts’ in emotionally significant environments and this was placed (with kind permission) in Wymondham Abbey, Norfolk. My family and I lived in the area for several decades and the significance of the building and its surrounding grounds holds string memories. For more details please read my blog post on the residency I undertook at this historic building in Feb 2025.

I was able to place the ‘Rift’ in various places throughout the building and explore how it took on the identity of that moment.
